Refund policy

At Asmus Toys, we want to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase. Please review our policies regarding cancellations, returns, and international shipping disputes.

1. Order Cancellations

  • In-Stock Items: A full refund is granted only if the cancellation request is received before the product leaves our warehouse. Once an item has been dispatched, it is subject to our Return Policy (see Section 3).

  • Pre-Order Items: * Deposits for pre-order products are refundable until the product arrives at our stockroom.

    • Once the item is officially in stock and prepared for fulfillment, the deposit becomes non-refundable.

    • If the final balance is not paid by the notified deadline, the pre-order will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.

2. Defective or Damaged Products (Direct Orders Only)

  • Direct Purchase Requirement: Free replacement parts, product subsidies, and repair services are strictly extended only to orders placed directly through our official website (www.asmustoys.com).

  • Third-Party Purchases: If you purchased a product through a third-party retailer, local hobby shop, or another online platform, you must contact that specific seller for assistance. We do not provide free replacements or refunds for items not bought directly from us.

  • Replacement Parts: For direct customers, if a product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect, we will provide replacement parts free of charge.

  • Returns for Defect: If a defect cannot be resolved with parts, we may request a return for a full refund or exchange. You may be required to return the defective part/item at your expense before a replacement is sent.

3. Packaging & "Shipper" Boxes

  • Function of Packaging: The brown outer carton (Shipper) and the internal color box are designed strictly as protective layers for the collectible.

  • Non-Product Status: Damage to the shipper box or the color box (including creases, dented corners, or scuffs) does not diminish the value of the collectible itself. Asmus Collectibles does not provide refunds, replacements, or "partial credits" for damaged packaging.

  • The "Unboxing Video" Requirement: To protect against fraudulent claims, any report of "Item Not as Described" or "Manufacturing Defect" must be accompanied by a continuous, unedited unboxing video. This video must show the sealed box being opened and the specific issue being identified in real-time.
    Failure to provide this objective evidence will result in the immediate denial of the claim, as the item’s condition cannot be verified once it has been handled by the customer.

  • Third-Party "Expert" Opinions: Asmus Toys does not recognize the opinions of third-party grading services or "community consensus" as a valid basis for a dispute. The final determination of a manufacturing defect rests solely with the Asmus Toys Quality Control team.

**4. Returns & Shipping Costs

  • Non-Refundable Shipping: In all return scenarios (except for confirmed major manufacturer defects), the original shipping fee paid at checkout is non-refundable.

  • Subsidized Shipping Recovery & Refused Delivery: Asmus Collectibles partially subsidizes the cost of international shipping for every order.

    • If an item is returned due to a "change of mind," "refusal of delivery," or "failure to receive," we will deduct the full, un-subsidized outbound shipping cost (the total amount Asmus actually paid to the carrier) from your refund.

    • Furthermore, the full return freight charges (the cost of shipping the item back to our warehouse) and any associated import/export fees or penalties incurred during the return transit will be deducted from the final refund amount.

    • If a package is abandoned by the carrier due to non-payment of customs fees, no refund will be issued.

  • Return Transit: For standard returns, the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to our designated warehouse. Items must be returned in their original, unopened packaging.

5. Missing Parcels & Liability Transfer

5.1 Carrier-Confirmed Loss

A full refund or a one-time replacement will be issued only if a parcel is officially declared "Lost" after an investigation by the shipping carrier (e.g., DHL, FedEx, Post Office).

  • Note: Investigations can take 7–14 business days. No refund will be issued until the carrier provides a formal loss confirmation.

**5.2 Third-Party Re-shippers & Forwarding Services

Asmus Toys' liability for the condition and delivery of the product terminates immediately upon confirmed delivery to the shipping address provided at the time of checkout.

  • Termination of Warranty: If you use a third-party forwarding service, re-shipper, or personal proxy, our "Missing Parcel" warranty and "Damaged Item" protection do not apply once the package has been signed for at the initial destination.

  • Risk of Loss: Any damage or loss occurring during the second leg of transit (from your forwarder to your final address) is the sole responsibility of the customer and the chosen service provider. Asmus Toys will not provide unboxing support or replacement parts for items handled by re-shipping services.

**5.3 Confirmed Delivery & Transfer of Risk

  • Transfer of Risk: In accordance with standard international commercial practices, the risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer the moment the carrier (DHL, FedEx, Post Office, etc.) records the shipment as "Delivered" to the address provided at checkout.

  • Proof of Delivery (POD): A carrier’s delivery confirmation, GPS coordinate log, or signature (where applicable) shall constitute conclusive evidence of successful fulfillment of Asmus Toys’ obligations.

  • Denial of Claims: Asmus Toys is not liable for "Porch Piracy" (theft after delivery) or packages lost after a confirmed delivery. We will not issue refunds or replacements for shipments that have a verified "Delivered" status.

  • Customer Responsibility: It is the customer's sole responsibility to provide a secure delivery location. If a package is missing despite a "Delivered" status, the customer must file a police report for mail theft and coordinate directly with the carrier for any local claims. Asmus Toys will provide the necessary shipping documentation to support the customer's police report but will not provide financial compensation.

**6. Refund Processing & Transaction Fees

  • Non-Refundable Transaction Fees: Please be advised that payment processing fees (such as those charged by credit card providers or any third-party transaction system service providers) are collected by the respective payment platforms and are non-refundable to Asmus Toys upon a refund. Therefore, all refunds will be issued minus the original transaction processing fee (typically ranging from 3% to 6% depending on the payment method and region).

  • Inspection & Timeline: Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed back to the original method of payment within 7–10 business days.

  • Final Refund Amount: The final amount credited back to your account will be calculated as follows:

    Total Paid − Original Shipping Fee − Transaction Processing Fee − (if applicable) Subsidized Shipping Difference & Return Freight.

7. Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed back to the original method of payment within 7–10 business days.
